As a long time Rolex wearer, I have to say, the watch world is the best we have ever had it as mechanical watch owners. China has a phalera of manufactures turning out watches for literal pennies on the dollar that can hold their own with any of my vintage Rolexes. Amazingly so. Anyone that doesn't respect the Chinese PT5000 movement hasn't use a ETA2824-2 that it is a clone of. The sub $200 prices delivered in the US from China have -0- relationship to the quality of the Watchdives models using the PT5000. Their VH31 quartz watches are just as stunning. And I am not exaggerating by the use of the word "stunning".

The Swiss should rightfully be nervous of the Chinese watch industry. I suspect the Chinese have already buried the Swiss...they just don't know it yet.

The Tudor 94110 homage, using the PT500 is keeping better time than any of the hand full of Rolex Submariners I have owned. I ended up buying 4 models of their "5513". All of them are easily keeping COSC time. The worst is @ +2spd over weeks. The best right at -0- spd on a 21 day run. Overall quality from bracelet to crystal is at par or better than a vintage Rolex or Tudor Sub with the same size case and bracelet taper.

I'll never have the need of a Swiss watch ever again...thank goodness!

There certainly are differe3nt levels of quality coming in from China. I own a few of them. IXDAO, Tactical Frog, Scurfa, which sold in Egland but made in China, just as Smith's are, and of course Watchdives. Not every Chines watch is worth $100. Depends on the quality control and skill of the manufacture not just the parts used. There are basically three levels of watch manufactures from China that I have seen. They aren't generally a lot of money, but it would behoove anyone shopping to look around before making a Chinese watch purchase.

The Chinese can copy anything with varying levels of skill, I've had the Parnis GMT watch for years, lovely watch, guilloche dial, moonphase and the clone
ETA 2893, movement, never let me down ever, think it's 23 jewels

If you like them, wear them. That is all that matters.
