London in the Blitz - Interesting article

TCM had a film called Tonight and Every Night yesterday. It starred Rita Hayworth, and I'd say it was a middling production,. Not her best vehicle. But the subject was a London theater that "never closed" throughout the Blitz. The real theater that the story was based on was the Windmill Theater. Here's the Wikipedia article on it:

An acquaintance of mine was a child during the Blitz and the family decided she needed to go somewhere safer than her London home. So her father took her to the Windmill Theatre (where he was the stage manager?) so she could 'shelter' there. A rather curious choice of shelter for a ten year old girl!
