I'm glad to hear it. :) I hope my question didn't come across as that I objected to it because that was not my intention.

No, isolate the bad boys and ban them. Not all men.

I'm mostly a reader here, have participated in the other forums a bit tho.

    YES....

When The Powder Room has had time to sort out the logistics of having a unisex subforum, let them in.

With less than 46 hours remaining until the vote closes, the tally now stands at 26 yes, one conditional yes, 14 no and one conditional no.

It's good to see so many once-familiar faces coming back to the Lounge to participate in this vote -- we hope that whatever the outcome we'll be able to regain your confidence and that you'll be spending more time with us in the future. And it's good also to see people who've been lurking for years taking the initiative to come forward and cast a ballot -- hopefully you'll decide to participate more fully in what the Lounge has to offer.

Change is in the air here, and it's the good kind.

Yes, make it women only - this is the main issue for me here on FL. I'd love to be more involved in future.

Again, support for everyone identifying as women, regardless of birth sex.

Good to see ladies speaking out. People have been programmed to steer away from difficulty or controversy these days. Doing the right thing is not easy and stressful, but many people only care about themselves. I don't have a lot of tolerance for those with a 'victim blaming' mentality and who minimise what people have mentioned as happening to and upsetting them. Just because it didn't happen to 'you' does not make it less valid or disgraceful.

    My first instinct was 'No'

but reading how many of you have felt threatened or unsafe, I am voting 'Yes'

The tally now stands at 30 in favor of making the PR women-only, 1 conditional yes, 14 no and 1 conditional no.

A reminder that voting will close at 6pm Eastern Daylight Time. That gives the women of the Lounge who haven't yet voted approximately 9 1/2 hours from this post to make their voices heard.

Voting is closed, and with no further votes submitted before the 6pm EDT deadline, the proposal carries. As of now, the Powder Room and Beauty are officially WOMEN ONLY. The current setup is provisional, while we work out the final structure of how the women's section of the Lounge will be established, and a "Parlor" area as proposed and discussed by several members, where men may post questions or links of interest to women, will be established soon.

Thank you all for your participation in this vote, and for your confidence in the Lounge. We plan to keep working to ensure that your experience here will be a pleasant one.
