PS Skyvue THANKS for heads up on where we could catch the Nighthawks LIVE! :D

Actually, I provided precious little useful info. Let me make up for that: The Nighthawks play at Club Cache, below Sofia's restaurant, which is in the Hotel Edison, which is on, I think, 44th Street, just west of Times Square. And there's a dance floor, for those so inclined.

Good news...the show is just starting a new series. This time out you meet Michael's mom and dad, who are nice as pie. The show visited some cool collections and collectors, gents of laid back enthusiasm. One 89yo dude in LA even sang Auf Wiedersehen My Dear as Mike played an old pianola. And Rich Conaty, the ole Big Broadcaster, took them around in his 1950 Nash.

Neat-o stuff is part of the deal, of course. We saw Al Bowlly sing The Very Thought of You - his only filmed appearance - and a good chunk of a promotional short film for Victor Records made in 1932! Paul Whiteman and band made a take in the Camden church studio. I had thought records weren't being promoted at all then, so it was a real treat to see.

The first series of shows seemed to me to project a little 'tude, but this show is friendly happy fun time.
