I haven't and I'm not sure that I will. I grew up with the books (had my mother's old copies) and I'm worried the movie with spoil my memories of them.

Favourite one? "Ginger and Pickles"...

"Mmm, very snug" ;)

We showed this a couple months ago, and I loved it -- Renee Z is excellent in period roles, and this one was no exception. And it made me want to get out my childhood Peter Rabbit books -- if only I still had 'em!

Lizzie, that is funny you should mention wanting to get out your Beatrix Potter books because after I finished watching I went on-line to Amazon and ordered the complete set of books in one volume. Now I am itching to get the book in the mail and start reading!

I agree, Renee was wonderful! I thought she played the role with so much emotion and looked great in the costumes!

It's a wonderfully delightful movie, one of the better rentals I've watched in a while. How much was fiction? Was she really engaged to her publisher at one point? When I watch the biography on the special features, it made no mention of a romantic involvement with him.

I recall reading an article in Vogue featuring Renee Z. when the movie was getting ready to come out. The article went into significant detail regarding the real life of Beatrix Potter, and it did mention that she was engaged to her publisher.
