I would buy it without haggling if it were my size. I'm a 58.7 cm, though

Outstanding deal. Wish it were my size.

Some smaller head is going to get a very nice hat!

A Panama cannot be stretched, can it, Brent?

  8. This is out of my area of knowledge. I’ve nudged them up fractionally, and changed standard ovals to long ovals, but I’d be afraid to use force to size them up like I have with felt. Someone with more knowledge of Panama hats will have to answer this.

I’ll say this, I’m not going to attempt any more whole size stretches again. I’ll adjust fit, but I’ve ruined my last hat trying to up size a hat.

Well guys I pulled the trigger on this one. It's a bit too small for me and I don't think I would try to stretch it. But honestly, at this price I figure it's going to be a really nice gift.

If you can't help yourself and do try to stretch it... Let us know how it went? :)

Straw doesn't stretch like felt. With woven Paja, you need the right size, or very close. With a Milan braid, you might get some "stretch," but only as much as the braids will yield in a pull. Sorry, guys.

Agreed. I will check it but most likely will be a gift to someone.

I wish I had a size 7-1/8 dome, and that you were my neighbor, Bill.

Great! Next time I see an excellent offer on a Panama that is just one size too small, I'll buy it. Thanks, Bill.

Remember that mine was just 1/2 a size too small.
