How long should these be? Short, like a bike jacket (e.g., Indian) or slightly longer?

Agreed. I like them to be the same length as a half belt, probably an inch or so over the belt.

Personally i think they both fit "right" at these lengths.

Does Aero allow customers to change the front drop?

In my eyes Aviator type jackets should have relatively short back lengths combined with a 2.5"-3.5" front drop. That's how they were back in the days.

I was able to have the front drop enlarged on my PHWM.

Extending the front to a 1.5-2in drop would fix the issue while still keeping the 50s aesthetic on the Bootlegger. The HOochhauler and Moonshiner could go full 3in IMO.

Holly from Aero told me that the Hooch Hauler is meant to be slightly longer.
Stock size 40, tag says back length 25.75" / 65.4cm but I measure it 25.2" / 64cm.
Front drop is 1.2" / 3cm.
I'm 1m72 / 5'7.

I'd say the correct length is anywhere between where the jacket covers your belt but doesn't cover your jeans/trousers pockets.

I do prefer the BL shorter than I would wear other HB‘s.
