I grew up only a few miles "as the crow flies" from where Ralph Stanley called home his whole life. My sister was in the same grade of school as Ralph Stanley Jr. And I remember seeing "Big" Ralph at school functions. It wasn't until I was older did I realize he was famous, he was always just "Little" Ralph's dad back then.
