Yeh, the back is too long for your torso, for a traditional double-zip. If you like it, that's all that matters, but since you came here asking, that's my take.

The leather on the jacket and your video skills are top-notch, however!
Thanks a lot really appreciate the honest input and the kind words!
Yeah, the 519 does run a bit longer in the back, especially with the double zip design. I totally see where you’re coming from. That said, I’ve really grown to like how it wears especially after the tailoring. It’s not everyone’s fit, but it feels right for me now.

And thank you for the compliment on the video work.

I'm sure everyone's opinion has been made perfectly clear at this point, no? Op produced enjoyable content and got the jacket to fit like they want, no need to express your feelings about the fit anymore at this point.
Thank you! Really appreciate your thoughtful words.
Exactly I shared the journey because I know how tricky sizing can be with Schott jackets, especially with models like the 519. In the end, I tailored it for my preferences and I'm happy with the result. Glad to hear you enjoyed the content too!

And you feel the need to tell other members what needs to be expressed and what doesn't? You sure that's a viable strategy on a forum?
It’s not a strategy, mate just a reminder that it’s all optional.
If my videos or posts somehow bother you, feel free to skip them no hard feelings.
I’m sure someone out there will find it helpful, and that’s good enough for me. ✌️

Taking in the chest of a leather jacket by 1.5cm might be the most pointless alteration I've ever heard of, and within the margin of error.

I'm guessing Justsomedude is one of OP's fellow TikTok influencers and the TikTok guys have discovered TFL as a source of free information.
Appreciate the input. 1.5 cm might sound small on paper, but in a tailored leather jacket, even subtle changes can have a big visual impact especially when combined with other adjustments.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback positive or critical. I truly appreciate the engagement.

I know not every jacket or fit will please every eye, and that’s totally fine. But I also think it’s important to remember: people join this forum to share their journey, ask questions, and hopefully help or inspire others along the way.

Whether it’s measurements, tailoring, sizing experiments or photography. I try to contribute in a way that might be useful for someone, somewhere.

This forum exists to help and inform and I’m grateful to be part of the conversation. Let’s keep it constructive, even if we disagree.

I just saw your vid. Considering your video editing skills, I think you could've directly shown the before and after side-by-side like above. Confusingly the sleeves on the "after" have lost all that creasing in the "before". Does the leather really relax that quickly?

Tbh, even after your alterations, it looks like it barely made any difference to the overall fit.

The feedback has been constructive imo - most people said it wasn't worth the effort of getting this jacket tailored and you'd be better served returning it and finding a new one. I agree with that feedback.
