Read the rules. Self explanatory. No need for an explanation.
Considering this was a change in rules, or at least a rule that wasn't actively being enforced, I do think it would be advantageous for you to weigh-in and explain to people why their posts are being removed when it happens. Having 2 classified posts pulled myself without explanation and getting no response from any of my direct inquiries looking for clarification is not a great look IMO. I confirmed that I had exceeded the messaging quota before reposting, yet my ad was pulled yet again and you went as far as to actually block my account. Again, no explanation was given. I realize this site isn't meant to be a glorified classified but it's crazy to not acknowledge that a LOT of people are buying and selling jackets on here. Furthermore, the particular jacket I was trying to sell was fairly rare (and ended up selling elsewhere in short order), so in effect all you really did was deprive a community member the opportunity to buy it. I think context matters in these types of decisions and based on my experience it doesn't feel like you're appropriately enforcing these rules or at the very least communicating the reasoning behind your decisions.

With an uptick in new members who are here either to just sell things or to relieve other members of their cash without supplying the goods, we will remove any classified post by anyone who hasn't taken the time to get to know the forum and all it offers. You'll need 20 posts at a minimum, or have been a registered member for at least two years, to participate in the classified forum as a seller from here on out.
I'm a registered member since February 2023, significantly more than 2 years and had a FS thread of mine deleted. I've also made sales on this forum before with good feedback. What was my violation and why was my thread deleted.

Every time I delete an ad, I give the reason: "Insufficient Posts." If you didn't see the reason, it wasn't me who deleted it.

How many posts do you have in the open forums? Count them and post the number here.

The reg in first post is "You'll need 20 posts at a minimum, or have been a registered member for at least two years" to post a FS add. Not "and". It's emphasized in red and everything. Please respond to why my FS post was deleted.

I have reinstalled your ad.

Thanks for bringing the fact that you have been a member here for more than two years to our attention.

But honestly, this isn't a sales forum. It is for participating members who contribute. In over two years, you have 12 posts that aren't in classifieds.

You aren't seeing the rule in its entirety:

"New Members: 20 Posts in the Open Forums are Required Before Selling here."

Now, as I asked before, how many posts do you have in the open forums?

Thank you. I appreciate the response. I am not a regular contributor, it is true, and I don't really intend to be one, and I can understand why you wouldn't want a lot of users like me posting FS ads all over the place. However, I have only posted 1 FS ad in the last year plus and it was a consolidated ad with multiple items so that it wouldn't clutter things up and I avoided bumping it for over a week. I am trying not to be obnoxious.

Plus, I have a touch of the autism and my post was within the stated rules so having it deleted raised my craw. I honestly don't have high hopes of making a sale of any of my items here. If the rule changes to remove the 2 year membership qualification I won't be bothered at having the ad deleted and wouldn't have posted it in the first place if there rule were different. I would probably side with those who suggest a higher than 20 post count and also suggest maybe a "warm up " period of one month membership or something before allowing FS ads, if I were you. Helps to avoid the low effort ****mers at least.

Actually, you just copied the title of this thread and I posted the actual rule from the body of the post, so I am the one reading the rule in its entirety, not you...

If you have a question about the rule or want to argue over how it's written, perhaps you should take it up with Scotrace.

Again, I ask, how many posts do you have in the open forums?

You are getting entirely too worked up over this. It might be better if you took a break from posting.

I'm not worked up, I'm just pointing out what's written in plain english. Are you getting upset? Could you rationalize why the post would include the 2 year membership carveout if Scotrace didn't intend to have a 2 year membership carveout?

Can non-co tributing members pls. simply start following the rules of TFL instead of arguing them.

This is a discussion forum, not a sales platform. Plain and simple. Sales posts are not contributing to the forum.
I find it childish and in fact a waste of time of the moderators (who are here bro-bono) to constantly demand “explanations” for this and that.

Agreed.
The only ones complaining and arguing about not being able to sell are the ones who are only here to sell.
If anyone is dissatisfied with the forum rules or how they are being applied there are plenty of other options available elsewhere.

True, but if I understand the reasoning of some of the sellers they are actually doing us a big favour by offering their rare items here, right???
Definitely !

I must have missed all the posts from members complaining that there is nothing to buy in the forum and if only more people joined up to only sell us their items.

Make no mistake the only reason why they are selling on the forum is because it’s free and they can avoid paying any selling fees.

The above question still stands valid (and unanswered). I see more members posting 20+ posts within an hour, posts other than "cool", "wow", etc. And then bingo, an ad. Is

Obviously. All the rest is just nonsense.
This is not true. I JUST tried selling a hard to find size Ship John Wills jacket here (for way under what others are asking), had my ad deleted. I was a member for more than 2 years and had dozens of previous sales. I like this community so wanted to sell here. Got frustrated and sold it on Reddit where there are also no costs to sell... I would have rather given someone here a chance to own it and enjoy it since this is a community of enthusiasts. This new rule is not good and obviously is causing problems. Good Job!
