Newbie needs help w/ coat ID plz

Hi all, glad to have found this group!
Ive enjoyed reading through the threads so far.
Can anyone help me with info on this coat? I picked it up a few years ago in Bowling Green, Kentucky and felt confident that it was special. There's no makers mark (checked pockets linings, back of shearling etc). Its super thick leather, very heavy with shearling removable zip-in lining. Eclair (main) zipper and the rest are an unknown zipper (pictured- nothing found on reverse image search) on ****** pocket and inner lining. Fabric lining is different on sleeves and inner pocket. Happy to take any additional pics if it will help.
Would love to understand more about the history of this piece.

Have you tried removing the zip-in/out lining to see if there any tags whatsoever? Checked inside the pockets?

Nice find. The 'Made in France' (it looks like?) stamp on the back of the zip pull would suggest to me that the zip at least was sold into an English language market, which would in turn make me think the jacket was made in an English speaking place? (That's assuming the zip isn't a replacement, though it looks original from these photos.)
