My latest from Mike.
I asked him to build me a hat based loosely on the hat Robert Mitchum wore in 'Farewell My Lovely'. I stipulated the ribbon width, and the brim width and style, which I think Mike calls a 'half blind binding'. What I liked were the row of stitches just in front of the top binding.
The hat I wanted in part to replicate:
The result:
I'm over the moon. The felt is a a light weight beaver and is very much like vintage felt. The hat is exactly as I'd hoped. In the style of the Mitchum hat but with my own style choices, expertly accomplished by Mike.

It's 'granite'. It's pretty hard to photograph, it's grey but with a brownish hue. An excellent match, in my eyes, to the Mitchum hat.
