Seriously like/hate this photo. I love the hat and like the background. But hate I am surrounded by 3’ of snow while you live there.
    Wear it in good health

Here's the Panama Mike made for me with a Cuenca body I brought back from Ecuador. Navy ribbon with a splash of off-white in the bow keep.

I like navy a lot, but have decided I need one with a basic black ribbon, too!

Yes, I think that is the look I am after. He is keeping a body for me with a brim wide enough he can put a small curl in it. Your hat is classy!

Mike has a good connection for Cuenca straw. Anyone looking for a nice hat should check in with Mike to see what he has from time to time. I only pick up my own bodies because I travel to Cuenca every year or two. My wife is from Ecuador and we visit her family between my trips to hat shops, hahahaha...

Do you take orders, Doug? It would be nice to get one of those bodies "from the factory" on your next trip :)

The great thing about the "white" Panama is almost any color will look great.

    Haha, thank you.

That's a beautiful weave, block, and ribbon combo. I would love to do something similar with Mike if I ever get down to Ecuador.

The steam locomotive stands by for passengers loading and unloading. Night is upon us and the shadows cast an eerie spell as the steam drifts over the station platform and the smell of burning coal surrounds us. Charcoal and smoke. Introducing the Mystery Series Homburg from Northwest Hats. A traditional 6 inch (open) center crease charcoal felt and a 1 1/2 inch smoke gray ribbon with a dog-eared gills bow. Add a 2 3/8 finished brim with a wide binding and you have the makings of 20200323_085508.jpg 20200323_085438.jpg 20200323_085427.jpg 20200323_085356.jpg 20200323_085344.jpg 20200323_085328.jpg 20200323_085409.jpg a Mystery!!!!

Thank you Mike, I will enjoy this one for a lifetime to come!

Mike is great. I've had two felt and one Panama made by him. His blocking and shaping is unsurpassed.

Such a great description, but I still like the hat better. Excellent hat, Randy. Steve @Steve1857 has one in a similar colour scheme. This one:

Fantastic. It somehow manages to be visually interesting without being in any way outlandish. It looks great on you as well. Cheers.

I have 6 hats coming from Northwest on which Mike did various degrees of refurbishment.

    1) A sahara ArtLite that received a new vintage ribbon.

    2) A Peters Bros hemp received a new vintage ribbon treatment.

    3) A vintage Knox panama that had the pug replaced with an interesting vintage ribbon. The colors in the picture does not do this justice. Mike also re-blocked the crown to add the pinches.

    4) A 40s Royal Stetson DeLuxe that was cleaned and re-blocked. It’s a camel color that I think looks peach in person.

    5) A vintage Tom ‘n’ Jerry (50s) that was cleaned and re-blocked. Love the spiral stitching on the brim. Does anybody know how that was done back in the day?

    6) Last but definitely not the least my 50s Borsalino muflone Lontra. All Mike did on this was press out the wrinkles.
