hey, you know what: my husband laughs at me when i do new things (like you were doing) because he just thinks i'm "Cute" for what ever reason he has. So maybe he just thought you were cute and it really wasn't about your actual makeup at all ;)

i get that same reaction from myself whenever i try 'heavier' make up... it jsut looks weird because i rarely see myself like that. i usually wear nothing but moisturizer and mascara, and i'm just getting used to red lips! (which i only wear when the boyfriend is not actually around, since it always ends up on his face... we are physical people lol )

if you really want to go with make up, i'd say you can go to a specialist store and ask for some advice, or get in touch with a make up artist. they know better than anyone what colors will flatter you and how to use them!

ok, completely off topic: i'm looking at two doves on a roof and just can't tell if they aremating or fighting! tee hee.

The first time I cut my hair, set it, and began wearing red lipstick my husband looked at me and said "What's with the lipstick? And the Hair?"

One reason behind this is his own insecurity - he's afraid that if I'm getting dolled up there might be a *reason* behind it. As in another male type reason. Of course there isn't, but that's his fear.

Eventually I managed to tell him "I'm 35 years old, never been happy with my looks and I think it's time I was. I'm doing this for ME, so I can look in the mirror and be happy with myself!"

Fortunately, we both love vintage and antique things, WWII documentaries and things like that, both feel like the world has gone mad since the war ended, and both of us feel, in part, like we wish we could go back to a time when people appreciated life a bit more. He's learning to like my new look, but still tells me my hair is too short (and I agree).
