This was a defeat, but I didn't go very deep. I like the description ... "some moth damage".

I thought the above Stetson store stamp was cool enough to dig up some info on the store:

Some moth damage...the rest looks like gophers...
Still a neat piece of history.

A bit of a defeat on this one. This hat fits great and the color, shape and 10X Beaver fur quality are all to my liking. Unfortunately the felt has a couple of deep gashes and there are a few spots where the shaggy fur is worn bare. None of these issues were disclosed in the listing and I’m debating whether to request a refund. I‘ve never owned a long hair fur hat so not sure what my options are for improving the hat. Any tips would be appreciated!

Minty Canadian Stetson OR is 7 1/8:

@BobHufford recently commented that size 7 1/8 is bizarrely common in auctions. I’ve had that same thought and find more hats in this size than in the sizes starting with “6.” Strange.
Beautiful hat and looks pristine. Not so strange about the hat size: looking at this graph for hat size distribution it is the most common size for males.

I believe there was another thread where we've posted some more graphs and numbers about this. If I remember correctly the graph hasn't changed over time either, against my own perception that the average used to be smaller. Hat manufacturers were and are of course well aware of this.

The informal poll we took of members here but the average between 7 3/8 and 7 1/2. Maybe we tend to be big-headed folks? ;)

I see where 61-62cm falls on your graph…sadly, the vintage market bears this out too
