Didn't know where to post this, so here goes.

A heads up for a rare silent film made in 1929 by an amateur team in Berlin, Germany. If you're interested in a portrayal of the late Weimarer Republik, watch it. There are so many silent films, yet this one is truly outstanding in its historical interest.
Highly recommended.

Yes. I got the DVD for christmas. It's really nice to view something apart from the usual "glamour" movies of that era. It is also easier than "Berlin, die Sinfonie der Großstadt" which looks more like a (russian?) montage. I didn't sympathize with the characters in the movie but this isn't really important.

This film has a simplicity that really touches me. Perhaps it's only because of the knowledge of the events to follow during the mid 1930s and then the war, but then, perhaps not.
