That photo is a fake and has been distributed on the internet for a while. Popular Science had a blurb about it this year. It showed the original and that retouched picture.

retro-look computing

Not quite on the same note but for those of us stuck with icky PCs blighting our vintage-looking rooms, apparently it *is* posssible to get/make a less objectionable, wooden case that would blend in nicer with the decor...aha!... I wonder if you could retrofit a tiny computer like a Mac Mini into a table radio casing....(cue brain whirring)

It looked fake...

The "control panel" in the background looks like the manuvering control panel of a 627 class nuclear submarine. The wheels on the left are the main engine steam controls, the right panel is the electrical control panel. Somewhere up in the middle is the reactor SCRAM switch (which I got to turn one time with the chief engineer looking over my shoulder to start a drill on the boat). I was wondering what that panel was doing in a home computer set-up.
