It looks like Ralph’s Pugh contributed to helping produce B-15 flight jackets during WWII.

The jacket is in bad shape, but it’s fascinating to see.

Awesome find!

Fascinating that the RP “Top Notch Sportswear” label was used on a military jacket. Im not super versed on military jackets but I don’t think I’ve ever seen that.

Back is a little bit different with three belt loops on the Levi’s and two on RP jackets and the sleeve is connected a bit different but the details such as the front layout, amount of belt loops and belt loop shape, collar shape with corduroy reinforcement, cuff shape, cuff buttons are all the same. It also looks like there might be an RP lining behind there.

The owner of the Levi’s said he may bring it to Inspiration. He wants $6k for it! I may just tell him I have interest just so he can bring it and I can take better pics lol!

The Police jacket is their standard model from the early 50s. I have this model, like new condition, with the finest Horsehide. I've also had this model that was a wreck. These are also very well fitting jackets, very tailored for fit. The second jacket is a fine example of their Steerhide. This label celebrates the opening of the Golden Gate bridge in 1938. The all green label was short lived.

I would guess that RP had their choice of leathers and processing. They may have had their own "mix". The Tanneries were in the bay area. This label show up on other bay area makers.

Here is another label from a California tannery. This is a goatskin jacket. I have seen this label with other leathers indicated.
