Welcome to the joint Martin. Just fired up an old Opal shaving brush I got from ebay. Very soft and helped start the day off with a nice shave. The DE use is improving! Not quite BBS yet, but no blood today! Also the irritation is fading as I get more used to it. The Quattro may get relegated to the travel bag if this keeps up!

I think this was my first back to back shave with a straight.Was expecting the worst, (razor burn), but other than a little burn from the a/s no problems.

It was my first shave with my new SR3824. It was amazing!!!

Merci for the warm welcome! Up again early today...the down side of shaving the classic way. But some things just cannot be done quickly! This morning will not be fun because I was in Dijon the past two days and since I refuse to carry a "normal" razor for traveling I'll be cutting through a jungle...

I'm happy to report I'm getting better with the Gillette SS. Finally got a BBS with it today that I am satisfied with. Can't wait for my Col Conk's to get here to try it out. Gonna definitely use the almond first, but I've got another mug ready for either the Bay Rum or Amber........suggestions?

3 passes, bbs. My hand allowed me to strop the razor some this evening, which helped a great deal. However in the middle of the shave the hand started giving out on me, and I wound up with one small nick, nothing the alum wouldn't take care of. Overall this was a good shave.
