Caro Emerald who now goes by the name: Jordan. Tina loves the first hat, but being petite she said that she would look: "All hat"

If the brim was cut proportioned to her size, I believe Ms. Tina could pull off that "look" and would look amazing in that hat!

I hope you are both doing well after ailments last year.

Thank you, such kind compliments, I have passed your remarks on to the lady. It's good days and bad days, just as her surgeon said, but slowly, slowly, the lady improves.

I knew there used to be one out there. Didn’t know if it had changed or gone out of business. Ever hear any stories about the man himself?
Yes, he was a real character--his estate is now a park and his house was the one used in Fantasy Island:

Their peacocks (and peahens) drift into our neighborhood all the time and they are a mess. Beautiful, but a mess!

You probably know most of this then. He was married 5 times I think, produced one beautiful daughter. One wife filed some kind of charges against him, & his last two wives were said to be young & beautiful, in the image of his adult daughter.

He was personal friends with Wyatt & Josephine Earp during their yrs in CA. Earp researchers have never been able to find record that Wyatt & Josephine were ever married (states didn’t require marriage licenses or register marriages until about 1910). After Wyatt died in 1929 & Josephine started to shop book & movie ideas she told the story that she & Wyatt were married by the captain on Baldwin’s yacht out in international waters.

OK that's just rich. Can I use this? - I'm in talks with MAGA and DOGE to get people back to wearing cool, useful hats again!

Deputy Marshall Cal Whitson, one of the real life figures that inspired the character Rooster Cogburn in True Grit.
Most interesting thing to me is how much his hat looks like the open Road style. I know we have general dates of when Stetson began marketing theirs, but I always wonder (and haven’t yet found a clear answer) when that style of hat first was developed/popularised.
Cal Whitson lived till 1926 (aged 80 years) but the picture here is undated.
