  2. Robieman might be interested in that too. The bldg that was the Mocker Barrel Factory still stands. And I don't have the address handy but the house where Jesse & Zee lived was still standing & occupied just a few yrs ago.

Nashville had a race track & both Jesse & Frank became "sporting men" while they lived there. For a time Jesse owned a racehorse but it is said he lost his financial ass in the venture.

If I did this right, check it out. Good story about their time in Nashville. I haven't found the location of the barrel factory yet.

  4. Thanks for that Robie! I'll be reading that later.

This is the house I was in & toured during a convention.

When Jesse was killed in 1882 Frank was living in disguise in Baltimore. He didn't attend his brother's funeral because he had not yet surrendered & feared capture. For yrs researchers argued that this was Frank, but the mystery man was later identified as the undertaker for Siddenfadens, St. Joseph, MO.

  5. Dunno ... I just liked his hat.

Theodore Roosevelt Martin, son of Norwegian immigrant Ole Martin and Danish immigrant Caroline (Anderson) Martin, of Nelson, Minnesota, was born there at the family farm in 1905.

The evil spirits that run the interweb have noticed that I do a lot of searches for hats so they have been sending me advertisements for the same. I was searching for wide brim fedoras and this hat soon popped up in an advert:

Now I feel so inadequate with my 3” brims. ;)

    Algorithms don’t know everything...yet.

I’d tolerate the hats, but they would cause some logistical issues. :)

True. It appears they could easily become an impediment.

Here’s a couple from the Autry museum that I recently toured. Fun to kill a few hours but was hoping for more (and better documented) hats but there’s a lot to cover for an American West museum.

It was a treat to see this priceless D45 in person though.

I had a Daisy BB gun as a kid, but it wasn't a "Red Ryder".

Looks like the indoor/outdoor rugs I looked at yesterday. Bigger is always better, right? Or is it, one size fits all!

Center front row Bartlett Richards, who established the Spade ranch in the Sandhills of Nebraska in the 1880's. This photo was taken in Wyoming where he worked as a cowboy before going on his own in Nebraska.
