Five months of daily wearing the Appalachian. It got lots rain and snow in the North East this winter and the mouton collar was a welcome addition. It really does help with the drafts. Sadly, this jacket still needs more beating, but I can now move my arms but I’m still not able to fully raise them above my head!!! It’s definitely softer but still stiff in some axis.

This one came in recently, and now the work starts! Unlike my Buco PJ27, which is a tank that would take 30 years to break in, this is "lighter" horsehide and is already COMFORTABLE!

looks good. I don't think you're meant to do jumping jacks in them, the stitching and pattern isn't designed for that.

Gorgeous cross-zip. If I were to buy one from LW, it would be between this and the Trojan!

100% agree with you, I wouldn’t want to do jumping jacks with that monster on either. I would like to lift my arms though or access the pockets while wearing it!!! At this rate, it will be another few months, hopefully before I put them away for summer.

Oh the Trojan, yessss!!! I also had a tough choice: It was between the Appalachian, the Trojan, and the Leathertogs B. The Appalachian won because of the large vertical pocket (map pocket) which comes in very handy. Any of those jackets is grail worthy. I have to start saving for the Leathertogs B and to think of an excuse to bring it in the house without getting divorced.

Leathertogs B is definitely worth it! If you ride, you can say that the pattern is the most comfortable on the bike and that makes you safer :)
