There were two black '30s ties.
Resilient hand made, with a pretty timeless pattern

I really do like my vintage black ties. They look good with just about anything.
With these added, I've now got four.

Nice ties.
Is that the standard price for thrift shop ties where you are?
Thrift shop price, yes. Vintage shop price...absolutely not!! :D
If these were purchased at a vintage shop, you should multiply the price by about 10.

so- how old do you think that wool plaid one is? The point stitching seems '30s, but the way it's folded is wrong for then, isn't it?

And MB5- that Arrow's probably 30s, and it looks great.

I think it's only bad luck to mention (that name) in a theater.
BTW, I have a tie I bought at the Harvard Coop in 1970 that's supposedly clan Macb*th. I'll post some pix later. Sadly some little mothies made a meal of it.

Got some more on the bay. Cool travel themed one, don't know the date yet, but it looks like it's unlined. The other ones are a '40s black geometric, and an unworn '30s geometric.

Feraud: I'm a complete novice at vintage ties, but 50" seems "short enough to be old" to me. I'm looking forward to what the experts say about it.

I've only just picked up my first 3 ties - I just discovered how much fun it is to go through those racks of colourful material! Even if I don't have much opportunity to wear them. :)

I bought a tie recently that I am curious about. It's the green and orange one - there's a modern ('80s) tie for reference and my 3 vintage ties:

The tie:

Label (printed on the material):
000csk8t

I bought it because it looks just like this pocketsquare that I happen to own.

It feels like silk to me and makes a tiny knot. There's no keeper. I figure the brand is "Cutter Cravat Original" even though the words are cut off by the design of the tie. Googling the brand pulls up some ties from the early 50s, but they don't really look to me like this one.

It has a Deco feel to the design, and the font looks Deco too, but it's such a long tie (55 1/2" long, 3 1/4" wide) that I think it must be fairly modern. But I'm puzzled by it and would love to know what you fellas think.

Also, what colour jacket would you wear orange & green like this with??
