I have a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere.... currently in Tennessee being restored to look like a 1958 Plymouth Fury in Red.... I hope to have it here before the spring.

Also in TN is my 1949 Ford F1 Pick-up.... hopefully that'll be here before the end of the year.

I can't seem to upload a photo..... I think this forum requires me to make a few more posts first....

let me try....

Thanks guys.

Norman is that your real name?
"Pitkin" was Norman Wisdom's character.... great name if that is your name, I'm a fan and met him once.

I'm on the Maldon Road (or close to it) in Tiptree.

I'm a local celebrity in the area mate :D

Check this out (from the Colchester Gazette recently) :

My car isn't here yet.
It's been a long time in the making and is a long story,

I administrate the International Christine Club.
5 years ago one of our members started building a Christine for me, using a car bought I bought from another of our members.

Here it was when I bought it:

She's a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere.

When he wrote the book Stephen King got it wrong.
He said Christine was a Red 4 door Plymouth Fury.

Fury's were only ever Buckskin Beige and had two doors.

When he made the Movie, John Carpenter got 24 1958 Plymouth Belvederes (the next model down and more plentiful) and smashed 'em up.

He used cheap paint, trim and detail on each of the 24.

2 survived the making of the movie (that we have verified), I know both the present owners, so we know exactly what cheap parts John Carpenter used.

Here she is again (I hope this isn't too boring for some):

Stephen King is definitely not a car guy. In his autobiography he says his brother was into stuff like "Hearst" shifters. Good luck with yours. Any guess when it will be completed?

As for my vehicles, a 2012 Triumph Bonneville and '73 Mercedes.

Here it gets interesting.

When he fired it up for the first time, something happened.
The restorer thinks she back fired, setting fire to some paint thinners.

He managed to drag her out with his pick up truck.

She was on fire, his workshop burnt down and he burnt his hands and lungs.

His neighbour grabbed a camera:

A few have said they can see things in the fire..... turn your head to the right and look behind the steering wheel in the photo above.

Hi Dan..... have you posted pictures here mate?

I spent 10 weeks in Concord CA ten years ago (I worked for Siemens back then).
A nice place, excellent base to see Tahoe, Yosemite, SF etc.... I had a whale of a time.

Here she is when the fire was put out:

We'll things turned out Okay.
He recovered and realised that most of the car could still be used.

His insurance paid out and he managed to obtain me a cheap 4 door version for the parts.

He also managed to rebuild his workshop.

I went out to see my car 2 years ago, she was outstanding:

Oh dear, I thought I had a larger version of that snow Photo.

Anyway, I hope I haven't bored anyone showing these picture off.

The restorer is going through a massive up-heaval in his private life, but hopes to have my car ready for March (I think it'll take a month or two longer).

As log as she arrives before Americana (a big festival in Newark) in July then I'll be happy.

Here's my other car.... also with the restorer in TN.

I'm not sure if he'll be able to finish her due to his current situation, if not I'll ship her to a friend in Wisconsin or may sell her.

Drop me a line if you're after a Christine or want to build one, I can help.

I hope to be able to log in here more often now than I have since joining, I think I've got some stuff to add to the forum too.

Cheers.

Lee.
