Which leather is this? It's beautiful.
Walnut Italian horsehide?
It's their standard Italian vegetable tanned aniline horsehide. Color American walnut. It was rather flat when new, but it developed beautifully over time.
Interesting scar/mark on the back yoke
Gustin L1 in CXL8:
EDIT: I just saw a pic of me wearing the jacket and the above pic doesn’t do justice to the graining. I need to do another pic in sunlight of the whole thing.
Don't know exactly what hide this is, but it's on a older Schott half belt that I own. Nice and grainy.
This will be Winter number 5, though there are less opportunities to wear thick CXL8 in SE Texas.
Hints of grain are finally starting to show!
Schott 613H horsehide
Nice! Glad you're getting there. It's starting to look like mine now.
Blattwerk Veg Tan Horsehide
You really put some good work on this one, i barely recognise it!
I still really like the contrast between the grainy collar and the smooth body panels, it's a really well matched/cut jacket IMO.
I did! I have two leather jackets that I can wear on a really cold day and this is one of them so thankfully, I don't have much of a choice. Told you this is it for me, tho. One I'm keeping. So it better turn out fine!
