This is the same hat I had previously listed as a 7 3/8. I have since looked more closely at the hat and realized that it actually is a 7 5/8 and not a 7 3/8.
I emailed the seller on ebay to let them know that the hat was a 7 3/8 and they insisted that the sticker said 7 5/8. I go to take a picture to show them that it's a 7 3/8 and lo and behold it actually is a 7 5/8! The hat is a labeled 7 5/8 but is smaller than a modern 7 5/8 (possibly shrunk). From the feel of it I would guess it's somewhere between a 7 1/2 and a 7 5/8 but the measurements below should help to estimate if it will fit you. Because this is actually a size 7 5/8 I feel it's worth a bit more than I originally listed it at which is why I've raised the price a bit.
Measurements:
front to back inside: 8 1/8"
Side to side: 6 7/8"
This gives me a circumference of 23.6" on an ellipse calculator.
The condition of the hat is very good. The sweatband is supple (appears to have been conditioned) and there is no moth bites or anything of that nature. The liner is a bit dirty.
Dobbs box is included and the box is in fair condition.
The sweatband says:
Standard Quality
Stetson
John B. Stetson Company
Philadelphia
Flexible
Conforming
On the other side the sweatband reads:
WM. J. IJAMS
Since 1915
Hatter and Haberdasher
Sixteen East Broad Street
Columbus Ohio
