Stetson " Black Lancer"

I just scored a sa-weet! Stetson "Black Lancer" (at the Alameda, CA Antique Fair for 20 bucks!). It resembles a porkpie in that there is no bash, but has a slightly different crown. I can't tell because of the softness of the brim whether the brim should be turned up or down. Any ideas? I've tried searching for print ads which would illustrate one way or the other, but to no avail. Anyone?

Yeah, well I live my life on the brim. So there.

I have one in Panama straw. I snap the front down, but that's me. If you like the look of it with the brim up, by all means wear it like that!
