I recently acquired a couple of Stevens straws at about 10 bucks apiece, and a vintage box.

I am particularly enamored with this one:

The hat is slightly two-toned, with the crown a shade lighter than the brim:

It's in very good shape, with a clean, light gray sweat and unstained Steven logo in the crown:

All in all, a very nice lid that I hope to sport well.

Also, the box is not original for the hats (the box says 6 5/8; hats are 7 1/4), but has anybody heard of Plaza Club hats? First time I've seen the name.

Ah, if only I were microcephalic...

...just kidding, an excellent snag of two nice looking lids. Timely too if the Queen City is anywhere near as hot n' humid as we are here in Hillbilly Central ;)
What is the brim width on the pinch-front number ? .. gotta nice shape & a great pugg'. That round crown looks great on ya' tho...
Honestly, I see great hats just a couple of bloody cms. too small & all I can do is nash my teeth :rage: at the unfairness & injustice of it all, I have cut my hair as short as I dare & still can't seem to make it into the 7 1/4 club !

Oh well, as Grandad Anson would've say " if that is the worst that befalls you, count yourself lucky"

I'm wearing the pinch-front today...

Rick, make no mistake, it's been typical Piedmont-humid for most of the month, and there hasn't been a felt on my head since mid-May. The brim width is 2 3/16"; crown 4 5/8" at the side, 3 7/8" at the front. The hat color is sorta a golden brown.

Besdor, I agree with you on the pugaree on the porkpie. It's a very unusual pattern that, in conjunction with the porkpie crown and the hat's two-tone coloration, make for a very distinctive look.
