Spent a couple days in Omaha, went to the zoo along with the SAC museum. Been there about a dozen but seeing the aircraft never gets old. If you're interested, it's on I-80 between Lincoln and Omaha. Two hangars full of aircraft and exhibits, well worth the stop.
Today one of the hangars was closed for an event but the other larger one was open.

They have one of only four B-36s left in the world. I couldn't get a good shot of the plane except for the wing:

The connecting tube crew members had to ride a cart through to get from the nose to the tail:

An excellent Holocuast Museum traveling exhibit:

Much of it was too graphic to photograph, but here's a little:

The photo at the lower right shows victims in a concentration camp circa 1938:

Well, shoot! You were right in my neck of the woods! I only live 30 miles from the museum. :) (And I'm desperately trying to get a job there, too!)

It is a wonderful place to visit. I went to see the Band of Brothers event they put on late last year.

Great pix Will. Mighty big improvement over when I visited SAC in 1980 - all aircraft were outdoors on dead grass, in identical, weatherbeaten silver USAF schemes, with 0- and 00- tail numbers and the canopies painted black. It was sad.

I remember that. Sad indeed.
