Personally? For me the 1980's were epic. It was the decade in which:

- I received my law degree.
-Passed my bar exam on the first shot.
-Got to experience skiing in Aspen.
-Bought my first car, after relying upon public transit for decades.
- Got my dream job that I ended up holding for over 30 years.
- Got married.
-Honeymooned in Germany.
-Bought my first house.
-Became a dad.

As to what went on in the pop entertainment world, I profess no expertise. There was good, bad, and in- between.

In retrospect, it was life as good as it ever could be.
