The Dobbs Diner...

1930s Dobbs Lord's Hat. I guess it's a Lord's Hat, though it has an underwelt brim treatment. I don't know what else to call it. Blue heathered felt in just fantastic shape for it's age. Black sweatband, taped at the seam.

Originally sold at The Metropolitan, a high end men's clothing store in Dayton. Not certain of when they opened (photo below looks 1920s), but I believe they pulled up stakes in the 1980s.

I can't see myself ever really wearing this, so it's going to be tossed in the 'Bay.

Oooooh I like it.... My kind of hat. Love that heather finish. It does look very old based on that mfg tag. Cool!

New hat, couldn't resist a low BIN. Late 1950s/early 60s Dobbs Game Bird. I'm not sure how long this model remained in the catalog for Dobbs, but this one has all the features. Nice deep brown heather felt, substantial sweat band leather, and the slanted Dobbs stamping. Cool WAR. The mfg tag does not have a block designation and the liner is glued. Not being adverse to a stingy 2" brim, this one will be a grab and go. Now I have a Rainbow and a Bird from the same era. Wish I could come up with an early one!

Mike, lots to like on that Dobb's, especially the band and bow. Congrats.

My new $9 early 1950s? Dobbs. Brim is a little stingy compared to what I usually wear, but it's growing on me

I was getting this one ready for sale and realized I never posted it in this thread. I've had it for many years. The epitome of the 40's fedora. A gray with black ribbon, Cavanaugh edge, Dobbs Twenty. While it's no 100, the Twenty is an amazing hat. This one is in near mint shape with the great mid to late 40's proportions. Has the wind trolley with fabric covered button.

Superb hat, Buler. I'm both sad and relieved that it's not my size.

This one came in this week through the Oregon exchange program, sometimes used as a stopover for hats in transit also.
Dobbs Hanover Square in blue. Bound brim at 6,5 cm and crown 10,5 at the center dent. Not a lightweight hat at 129 grams but what a glorious hat this is. Nice hand to the felt and the colour is more outspoken blue than for example borsalino's mirtillo or Maclachlan's midnite. Now and again @Michael A wears his and I always liked the look of that one very much. In my view best worn brim up (the brim has quite a pronounced downward snap) but it works either way.
