SEATTLE (Map, News) - A U.S. Army officer who was the assault force commander of a World War II mission to liberate Allied prisoners that was portrayed in the 2005 movie "The Great Raid" has died. Robert Prince was 89.

I have the book on which the movie was based. A great read that profiles the prisoners and the group that liberated them.

When they are finally rescued, it brought tears to my eyes.

Claimed. As a ranger, you should love it. It has some info on how it was the first elite unit formed or something like that. A bunch of mule skinners.
