The Imperial Stetson/ 1940

W
Imperial Stetson Homburg that arrived today. I imagine it's very late in the run of Imperials, late 50's to early 60's. Perhaps made in Canada. The seller was in the Montreal area and that's where the hat was originally sold. I think the hat box is original to the hat.
WONDERFUL Hat! And yes, a Canadian Stetson most likely looking at the stamping.
And I think mid 50's based on price.........Great find!

Very nice, I'm a huge fan of those Imperials.

That looks like an oilskin liner; on Stetsons I usually place them as '48-52. Plastic liners on Stetsons probably replaced the oilskins in '52.

All the best,
Daniel

The Gibbons Hotel when it was known by its original name, the Algonquin. It was the Algonquin from 1898-1917. It was sold and became the Gibbons in 1918 and continued as such into the 1960s.

It was most recently the Dayton Grand Hotel but has been vacant now for several years.
