It is very smart and the backbow makes it just that bit more interesting ( and I think you're probably right about the short brimmed fedora ). The brim is 2" and the crown 4" but sadly it's a touch too small for me ( it's a 7 1/8 ) so it's off to Ebay and I'll try again with something that fits hopefully

Found this on an online auction and was able to get it for a good price. Not my size unfortunately. I think I can date it between 1911 and 1921 based on the store naming (and Mallory changing it's logo naming around 1920 -- see @buler 's postings earlier in this thread).

Man, now that is cool. I only have one Mallory from the 50’s, and it is one of my favorites.
Very cool stuff on the history ! I guess since it’s too small you can always make a cool display for it.

recieved one of the greatest gifts I've been given
this is my great-great grandfather's Mallory. We found it going through some of my grandfathers belongings since we lost him a few months back. I've always heard stories about my great-grandfather from my grandfathe and the rest of the family, and almost every single one had a mention of this hat.

Here is a slate-blue heather early Mallory I just received from Justin aka @splintercellsz. The photos are a bit more blue than it is. It has more of a gray tone than it shows on my display. The brim is only 2" so don't know if I will keep it but I wanted it in my grouping for a while. I have a hard time passing on early Mallory heathers.
