That's so true. It's got nice heft, a very soft hand and a beautiful dull luster. I've had a shawl like yours dancing around in my head for ages and after handling this one I know I'll have to save for one of those. I feel like I might have graduated from cross zip college. But there is one particular cross zip I'll need for my masters...
I'm confused... the photos in the original post, and subsequent posts by pawineguy, show a jacket WITHOUT quilted pads on the shoulders and elbows.
From memory Pawineguy has had 2 thedi jackets and they have both been sold to members. The first without quilting now belongs to Dan_t, the second with the quilting now belongs to Ton ....I think
Chris, good to see you back here after a one year absence. Your participation and input has been sorely missed!!
Correct +1 PN, I love my Thedi (the original one in this thread), it's my favourite go-to jacket right now.
I wasn't originally big on these quilted jackets as falling rather after my period of interest (they first appeared on the consumer market around 1968, I believe), but they have started to appeal more as I look realistically at getting a bike over the next year. Thedi do them with pockets for shoulder / elbow / backplate armour, don't they? I'm definitely intrigued by their green hide.
I wasn't a fan of the quilted parts initially, but looking at the Thedis, I changed my mind and got my gray cafe racer. Contemplating 2 more jackets from him, but hoping to go see him directly before I place any order
