I've developed an intense interest in 1930's interior design - unfortunately a fascination with fascist interiors and military designs. Rather difficult to explain, but of all things, I've noticed an "economy of objects". Even in "Sky Captain", the interiors have style and purpose, yet remain spare. There's a real masculinity to these miitary interiors - as if every object in a room was placed very intentionally and with nothing to spare, and NO junk.
Does anyone know where I could find more info on these sorts of interiors in the 30's? I'm constantly looking for a way to decrease my stuff yet make rooms look classic- as if everything in them is absolutely necessary, with no junk.
