Trying to identify a vintage motorcycle jacket

Hey all, I've been trying to figure out what brand my dad's old motorcycle jacket is since he gave it to me. There is no label beyond a 40 tag on the inside facing. It used to have a zip-in liner that i assume heald the original label. Its looks, feels, and has broken in like chromexcel. The main zipper has been replaced but all others are original. The Most unique feature of this jacket in my mind is the inside of the pockets; each one is made of a different pattern thick wool. Thank you all.

Will get a lining shot for you when I get home, as well as a better collar shot. Lining is black rayon type slippery stuff

I'm inclined to go with 1970's Branded Garments though it could be Lesco as well. Just not sure as they were making practically the exact same jacket at some point & Branded did sometimes deviate from the standard pattern by adding side laces et cetera while Lesco stuck to the straightforward Perfecto.

I've seen the plaid pocket bags on a Lesco before. The other details like the kidney panel and the shape of the epaulets are what made me think that's what it was.

I've seen one or two Branded's with pocket bags made out of some off material like plaid but you're right that it's most often seen on Lesco. Just that I never saw Lesco with side laces but of course that doesn't mean much.
Both had zip-out liner and the earlier Branded had the same kind of back with the gigantic gussets - Effectively a full action back - and a very large kidney panel like that.

On the other hand, what would also indicate Lesco is the brass hardware, which they always used on their black jackets.

Well, I'm certain it's one of the two and since neither has any advantages in either quality or value over the other, that settles it for me. :) It's a great jacket, in any case.

I can confirm that Lesco has used side laces on some of their cross-zips, as well.

I don't know enough about Branded to rule it out, but if I was to guess I'd have to go with Lesco.

Here's one on ebay right now, with intact label :

https://www.ebay.com/itm/265976423129

I think it matches very closely.

Lesco. The tag size tag on the inner ride side. However, BG also has it on that side sometimes. The kidney back is consistent with Lesco.

Fan of both brands by the way.

I ordered a lesco first, since they seem to be a bit rarer than branded. At under 200 a pop usually for either one, im happy to try both. Gonna cross post these pics in the upcoming jackets thread, but this is what I ordered. (Always liked the belt over the lace adjusters, both is the ultimate.)

Lesco showed up. Fits well. Wouldn't take it on a bike though, unlike dads jacket.

Found a branded from the 70s, no stamped snaps, plaid pockets. Waiting on UK to us shipping.
