Which prompts the query; when did the Army, USAAF, and newly formed USAF begin with the addition of 'scrambled eggs' on the cap brim? The only military cap in WWII with such a device was Gen. Douglas MacArthur, and his was a Philippine Army issue.

Any ideas on this one?
