V shaped back

Question for guys. I know the way a jacket is cut and put together can lead to a VTapered shape, to some degree atleast. I know it will ultimately come down to a person’s body shape.

But I was looking at some pictures and was curious if adding kidney panels or a more extreme cut might help enhance the V tapered torso from the back view.
This is a Route 66 (pretty nice V) would adding kidney panels like the RMC J-57 or something like this Freewheelers Speed Master design enhance the look?

I know the guy wearing the Speed Master has a very narrow waist to shoulder ratio, so won’t be that fitted for everyone

Side panels or not does not matter. Here are examples with and without.

Edit: Sorry, I misread. It's not about side panels at all

Edit 2: I think if you want to emphasize P2P/hip ratio, you must not think of a V, but a Y. For me, waist and hip has optimally the same measurement.

I do NOT have Superman V Body. BUT I can wear jackets with a shorter V back panel!
V Shape Back Panel.jpg

These two are better examples of what I am talking about:
Superman Trapazoid Back Panel.jpg

The body (torso) shape is straight, but the panels are cut in a short V shape. Secret weapon for older guys.

Truckers with a clear V panel at the back are awesome. Who says older guys can't wear trucker jacket can go **** ***.

I see MrProper has a great shoulder to waist ratio. All of those pictures show the taper and honestly so do yours CanuckPanda, the 3rd and 4th picture bring it out the most.

I know a jacket can’t change your body type but great tailors have been doing it for years with suit jackets.

I think a seam in the right place might visually enhance it or possibly remove a bulge in the back. See the Route 66 picture, great v shaping but then look at the speed master (I know they are different people) but I do wonder if a simple curved seam could get rid of that lower back bulge.

I think the most important part is a good fit. If there is too much fabric in the lower back area, it will ruin the V-look.

That’s why the curved in seams in the speed master seem to eliminate that. I was curious if side panels added to a custom jacket would help instead of the minimal panel look of most J100 styles where the front panels meet the back panels in the of the body.

I’m in the process of trying to create a custom and would like to know how to explain to the maker that I don’t want that bulge.

Just send him a picture of how you want it to look and one of how you don't want it to look. He will then hopefully know what to do.
