If its not reached production at Aero can't you change your order?

Oh I didn’t buy the Perfecto until last month, so it was already in production at that point. I’m just presenting my experience for the benefit of others in deciding what/how to order.

(Also, I don’t believe you can order a different sort of jacket without re-initiating the fit jacket process, with all the attendant shipping costs— and I can’t imagine such a do over can happen anyway.)

Not hijacking this thread and still waiting to see the red oxford but @Aloysius:
I was in the same situation multiple times. First few times I just took whatever I bought. But no closet is big enough. If you get in touch with Aero for your Ridley I am sure something can be worked out. I did the same not long ago. I paid a cancellation fee, and switched to a different jacket on their sale page. Aero even out on the sale page stock, and was compensated with the cancellation fee. And I ended up with a jacket I wanted, instead of something that just sat at the back of the closet as my grudge builds further. When this happened I was not very happy as a long time customer (cancellation fee). But now I see it as win win for us both. It just took me a while. Communication is most important. Better results in the long run.

That’s a great idea @Canuck Panda however in this case I sent a fabric with personal meaning to me in to be used as the liner. I’ve taken the learning experience to heart!

Visitors to this thread will benefit from both of our experiences!

I think a lot of us would do things differently if we knew then what we know now. Not just jackets :)

probably worthy of it's own thread, but something I learned was if I really wanted a particular jacket, then just get that jacket. Beating around the bush ended up costing me more in the long run. I know there's limitations sometimes with budget, availability, etc. but on something regularly available, I've found you're better off saving a little longer and getting what you want. Even though you might end up with something just as good or better, you'll never be satisfied. In some cases the other option was indeed better, but not knowing would have driven me crazy.

@Hh121 hey man! Glad to see ya here

a nice octagon there… I also have to watch the sleeve on my vanson (a comet)

For what it’s worth I talked to Kim at Vanson a month or so ago, she said they had maybe a 46 and a 48 comet in stock in the octagon even though they weren’t listed on the site anymore

So if anyone is interested in octagon or anything else not listed, give em a call

Vanson doesn't do email very well. I got much better results by calling them. But from Europe the time difference can be tricky.
I've always thought they did Tall sizes. Like regular 42 plus 2 inch sleeve / torso = 42 Tall. I could be wrong. Most American brands does this, so maybe I just assumed.
No worries though. Plenty of of awesome makers in the US to choose from!

I agree with the email comment. They take forever to respond to email. They take forever in general!!!

Are they still making Octagon? Or is this an older jacket?
This is made from recent years I believe (Serial number starts from 80), they are still using this leather, the last batch they told me is no good for jacket so they are waiting, the Octagon is not discontinued.
Japan market used to have Octagon c2 over 1k few years ago.....

My Octagon Chopper was made around this time last year. I don’t think that batch of Octagon lasted very long though and if I remember correctly the tannery that made it for them burned down shortly afterwards.

That’s what I thought. Sounds like it’s an option again. Great hide.
