Just in case anyone missed this, the next few Sundays offer a chance to ride on retired R series cars from the NYC subways, all from the 1930s, some of which were prototypes. Lots of memories for native NYers like myself, but also fun if you're visiting for the holidays or business.

The train cars are all restored and taken from the exhibit at the NYC Transit Museum in Brooklyn - another great thing to do when you're in New York or just feeling nostalgic. The cars all have old ads displayed (films, grooming products, food and drink, government services, etc etc) and the old wicker style seats are amazingly comfortable after all these years!

It's on the "V" line, from western Queens to the lower east side of Manhattan. Plenty of chances to transfer from other lines in midtown. Every Sunday in December, 10 AM to 5 PM.
