I missed it. How was it? I'm in the process of moving to Virginia Beach. I was there the week before and will be there the week after. I'll miss the show in Suffolk as well. It's a lot of back and forth. The trouble is I'm back when I should be forth.

Rain

I went and it was very wet. It rained half of the day. I did get to see the Wildcat fly, very cool! I hope they do it again next year. I was hoping for more of the vintage planes to fly. I was also very impressed with the reenactors. They stuck it out through the heavy rain.

Quite a good show. Not so the weather. Yes we did stick it out through the rain. And thank you for noticing. We really appreciate that. Admittedly we did pack up on Sunday though when it proved to be an extended rain for the rest of the afternoon when the front came through. I'll be posting some pics here in a couple of days. Just got back from being out of town for a week so I haven't had a chance yet.

I was in VB this pas weekend and caught the show on tv. WSKY was there and did an hour long special. They had Abbot and Costello, The American Belles, interviews with Vets, reenactors, and a good amount of airplane footage. It's been on a couple of times that I know of.

Pics from the show

Here are some of the pics I promised. I hope to put up some more...

First is a pic of myself kitted out as a Flight Officers somewhere in the South Pacific.

This shot was taken Sunday morning before the front moved in. The P-51D is owned and being flown by Jerry Yagen, the museum's owner.

Kicking myself

Now that I know the Mustang flew, I wish I would have gone that Sunday but the weather was not looking good and I didn’t want to sit in the rain again. Do you know how often they fly the aircraft at the museum? A friend of mine and I are both pilots and have a “few” hours in the T-34, he more than I, and we wanted to find out who owns the T-34 at the museum. I bet that P-51 sounded and looked beautiful as it flew by.

Treetopflyer,

Jerry Yagen I am pretty sure owns every aircraft in the museum. He flew the P-51 for only a few minutes Sunday morning before the weather went to heck on us. I think the T-34 is owned by the museum or one of Jerry's other projects, The Fighter Factory:

I don't recall seeing it fly that weekend. But I was inside a tent for a lot of both days. I'll be honest I have no idea how often or what aircraft fly at the museum. I do know that something like only four birds there are not currently flyable.
