Folks,
Scenes like these were common, 61 years ago. And I thought that I'd go ahead and post these as well as the radio broadcasts so that we can remember that to which ushered in peace. I was in conflict this morning wondering whether I should post this in the WWII forum, but as 14 August 1945 and the days before and after that ushered into what we know as peacetime...here it is. These pictures are from San Francisco, the place I'll always consider my home. My mom's best friend Ruth was there in that crowd you see below.
