I have placed an order for a new member to my collection. This time I have opted to change up the crown shape. Moving away from the cattleman crease and adding a pinched front with a teardrop. I am looking forward to it arriving, but it will still be some weeks before it arrives. Photos to follow when the hat arrives.

Has anyone seen one of these melusine/melousine western hats? I suspect the felt was intended for the religious market, but the eBay seller has it styled as a western. I went ahead and bought one and the seller asked what size I was and then said he would block it tonight. I specified my crown height preference just in case there was an option. We’ll see.

It’s listed as “Beaver Melousine.”

It had free shipping and a satisfaction guarantee (money back and return shipping). Unfortunately, this was also part of the description:
“Handmade - Solid Rock Stiff.”

I selected Stratton Hats out of Illinois. I heard good things, read good reviews, had a good experience when I spoke with them and the hat was reasonable priced.

That hat is already next level, Ross, but you've gone to the next dimension with that killer jacket. Are there more pics of that around the lounge anywhere? I have to come clean...... I am slightly in awe of it.

The darker color looks good on the open road, Ernest T. It gives the hat a whole different vibe. I like it!

Cheers Dale, it’s my only leather jacket I bought since I had recently got my moto license. LA commutes are terrible but Covid has cleared mine up dramatically. I didn’t end up getting the bike, but I was thrilled when this popped up on EBay in a Large. Brand is RRL and it was from a couple years ago I believe. There’s a few more pics scattered around here but I’ll upload a few to the What Jacket are you wearing thread later today.

ET, your OR reminds me of my ~1965 3X OR I found virtually NOS in a 1965 Stetson Centennial box. The color goes from a charcoal gray to a dusty gray with blue undertones. Unfortunately Stetson did not mark the hats like they did on the 150th anniversary, & they could have used the boxes for several yrs. There are older pics I've posted before.
