Received a vest from Historical Emporium today. Nice quality I think. Threw on a Bailey 8x for the pic.

A soon to be hat project. This Resistol Ridgetop was gifted to me by a fellow lounger. It's a 7 1/8 LO 10X Beaver in Silver Gray. The manufacturer's tag says the brim is 3 1/2 inches wide but it's definitely been trimmed to 3 1/4. The ope crown height is 6 1/4 inches. Anyway, it's a nice hat and I'm looking forward to working on it...

Turns out this Boss Of The Plains was made for Death Valley '49ers official, Schelda Campbell. I'm not exactly sure where to put hat chronologically but between embroidered liner, fairly deep embossments and rectangular size tag (w union markings on other side) I'm thinking early 60s? Schelda didn't wear hat much as it's squeaky clean. Below is a link to a cool article where it's writer in 1965, discovers that John Stetson's last living son, G. Henry Stetson, lived nearby and ends up visiting with him. These BOPs made for the '49ers were brought up during one visit. Hat's crown's around 4 1/2", brim 3 1/2".

Damn, that is a nice one. I have a fondness for the BoP crown. If you ever need one refurbished I have a BoP block in your size.

My Resistol Ridgetop is on the RA block. It's going up a size and the block profile has been completely changed from the original, and it looks like I'll be maintaining my brim width. I'll be keeping it Western.

I love that block profile. I'm assuming it's custom?

Very nice! Are they all the same color? Any problems with the last felt?
The two on the left are Natural. The one on the right is Honey. The latest is the one on the left. No problems at all. I did some extra pouncing to try and make it as thin as I felt comfortable. For a relatively large western it could probably use a little more stiffener than what they put in. The felt seems a little on the limp side to me. It gave me a some fuss getting the brim curls to set but they're good now. We'll see how it holds up. I plan on wearing that one fairly hard as a sort of test of durability. I have another Honey body I'll be starting at some point. I love that color and those have a little more stiffener in them.
