How do you find it? I found that one and the last one (White Jazz) to be my least favorites of the LA Quartet. The two middle ones were my favorites.

I find it a good read but since it's my first Ellroy and the first of the LA Quartet I have no comparison yet. I'll let you know as soon as I'm through and done with the other three books.

Just finished "The Cold Dish" by Craig Johnson. The first in the Walt Longmire mystery series. And have started "Death Without Company". Not bad if you like a murder mystery with a contemporary western flair and a bit of old Cheyenne lore thrown in. Similar to Tony Hillerman.

I read about three or four books at once. Right now, im finishing up Memoirs of a Muppet Writer by Joseph Bailey, very funny, so sweet. Im about to start Harpo Speaks! and probably The lady's room. For school, i'm reading Sophie's World and Grendel. Oy. There is also a book of story versions of episodes of Are you being served that I might add to my purse.

The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt by Caroline Preston. A wonderfully charming novel told in scrapbook format - full of vintage images from the 1920s. A brilliant concept that really worked.
