Anybody know anything about this unknown hat brand? Emco? is that what it says on the embossed logo?
Just got it today. Did some digging and came up with nothing.
It’s definitely old. guessing maybe 20s or so.
sweat to reed VVVVV stitching, taped seam, sweatband style, logo style and embossing style, remnants of a possible round and scalloped size sticker over the seam, etc.
All point to an oldie, right?
Surely not newer than 30s.
Seller didn’t know much but said it was a size 6 7/8. Don’t know how they came up with that unless there’s a label behind the sweat.
I didn’t pay much for it, so maybe it’ll be decent get anyway.

S. F. Wilson store branded derby. Exterior photos are bad, but the interior looks nice.

1930s maybe. The store was on Michigan Avenue in 1934 (according to S.F. Wilson's obit -- his son had be running it since 1913).

It seems Mr. Scharbeck is still giving us men something to talk (text) about!
Nice piece!

Well, my Akubra Federation IV came in today. Not quite what I was expecting. I've never had a new felt hat before. It's a lot stiffer than I thought it'd be. Molds like clay though.
I'm gonna play with it a bit tomorrow I think and try to get a good bash going. I tried dry bashing a teardrop but couldn't get it to pop up in the middle. I think steam will help with that.
Any good videos on bashing hats that y'all would recommend?

Still waiting on my Dobbs Homberg. Should be here tomorrow.
