Is the hat you want to recrease a factory blocked hat or originally an open crown hat?
I only ask because factory creases are commonly more stubborn ...
Either way ... steam it up and open the crown .... a block helps of course but not completely necessary ... if it is a hand crease you can just steam it and massage out the crease with your hand from the inside and let it set open
Then just re crease it to your liking
This thread can be helpful when reaching this step ... run through the entire thread ... some really great creasing going on

Maybe it's just me, but I am always amazed at the drastic change in appearance that can come with even the slightest alteration to hat. I have a Campdraft Heritage Grade that I originally made in a center dent/front pinch & rarely wore - one day I decided to change it to a diamond & it's worn 2-3 times a week now.
This hat was a 1960s Stetson 10X beaver cattleman when I bought it a few years ago. I had Texas Hatters in Lockhart completely rebuilt it as shown in top photo & it came out exactly as I planned - but I rarely wore it. It seemed too "formal" for jeans & even with the center dent, made me feel a little like Hoss Cartwright. On Friday I was wearing it when I dropped off another hat for some work at Texas Hatters & asked David to pinch the front. With no other changes, I left feeling like I had a new hat. To me, it looks very different & something I'm comfortable wearing all the time.
