This one is a stock size 40. My usual Vanson size across many models. While a 42 always seems more comfortable at first, they break in way to loose baggy on me. Either too long torso or wide in the waist. Learned to suffer through a slightly tight fit when brand new to end up with the perfect size down the road.

I’ll make a separate post with better pics and some questions for the lounge on my mode j modification plans

LOL. You called it. Literally was just about to snap the pic and had to get the windex! Who says this jacket hobby / addiction doesn’t have its side benefits

Took some better pictures of the new LW Ryder this afternoon. I’m really loving this jacket and I highly recommend the 3.5 oz horse to anyone who wants an LW but doesn’t feel the need or desire to get the really heavy stuff. At a little over 4 pounds it weighs about half as much as my CHP. 9730142B-7901-48DA-BF51-91EC17BD7C13.jpeg 4F2F110E-97D6-4054-85A9-507B8963D0A3.jpeg

The jacket arrived on Monday just in time for some unseasonably warm weather. It was 73 degrees when I went out for my walk this afternoon but I took the jacket with me anyway. Figure I can break it in a bit carrying it around under my arm...

Perfect fit! I love the Ryder. When it looks as good as yours there’s no question...it’s Stu’s best pattern. Just a perfect everyday leather jacket.

    Not a bad idea!

I don’t ride (other than bicycle :) ) so I may be able just to find a preferred fit and cut it very short. We’ll see!

If what you say is true then I’ve been cheated on my weight!!!
Just kidding, to be honest I wouldn’t care if the jacket was only 2.5 oz because it wears nicely and looks good.

That's what i have done on most of my laced jackets, i find the sweet spot, make a double flat knot and chop the ends, i am not a fan of dangling leather laces:

Saying that, my Langlitz has this two knot setup that i like and i don't feel the need to cut them shorter:

My brand new Aero Highwayman in Vicenza cordovan. I asked for a sympathetic lucky dip tartan lining, and I’m very pleased with the outcome. Logan modern I think, looking at the Lochcarron site...

Honesty - and not just 'cause it was my jacket - I didn't think it'd fit you this good. 10/10 perfect as far as I am concerned.

I bought these red laces in Canada. The jacket originally had these flimsy, fabric laces. Like shoe laces. Didn't look good at all. Figured red would really lift the jacket.

@AbbaDatDeHat , I'll be honest with you, that Langlitz doesn't fit you at all. Especially zipped up. Definitely one jacket you should consider selling. Like, right now.
