Nice! Congratulations.

I had the same experience for a 141 long. I almost dropped dead when I saw the sellers ad. I just told him I’d pay his asking price, plus whatever the shipping was going to be. It was a bit of a nail biter waiting for the shipping—but I got it—and if the seller had tried it on once, that was probably it. The jacket was absolutely mint, no creases on the jacket anywhere, and the fur liner was pristine.

Sometimes the stars just align!

Thanks, the guy lived 20 miles from me and we met up at a gas station and I tried it on in the parking lot. I paid his price no question and he said he wore it maybe 4 times. Pristine condition. Good day for sure.

Monarch today. We are about to hit a back slide in our weather. 75 yesterday. Looks like more typical 40’s-50’s for the foreseeable future. Haven’t worn this one much since the fall. Every time I put it on I reminded of how nicely made Monarch jackets are, and how lovely the horse they used is. Not that you can tell from this pic.

This type of spot-on fit is what makes me want a Mulholland

Thanks. Definitely better fits out there though. This one is a 34. Had a 36 and it was a little on the larger side so I sold it. Ideally I’d be a 35.

All your jackets fit great and I’m sure this one in the right size would be no different.

How do you feel about it next to your 654?
Very good question. Slant pockets on both. The Bates is lighter, with narrower sleeves at the wrists. It also has a shorter front. The Schott front continues down past the zipper by a couple of inches, similar to FW Speed Master. I will post some fit pics of the Schott for comparison.

I believe it was made by Aero so identical in my opinion.

Sam Walker's shop in London was an Aero stockist way back in the day. At some point, they stopped stocking Aeros, and introduced their own labelled range of jackets of the same designs, manufactured abroad and labelled as Sam Walker. Aero are on record as having stated that they never supplied them with jackets labelled as Sam Walker, but the unknown factor is whether the Walker company itself ever relabeled any Aero jackets as Sam Walkers.
